About Me

I am a mother of three boys (three boys, being punished for my sins!) and have been a fan of photography for years. I started shooting weddings seriously about five years ago. With the arrival of my twins, I decided to reduce my working hours in order to spend more time at home with my boys. Using photography to make up for the loss of income was a natural progression.

This is where you will be able to catch regular excerpts of what I am up to...

The wedding season slows down in winter and I must say I am enjoying the slow, a time to catch up and recharge.

I still have a winter wedding that I really do need to share with you, but for now just this one to disrupt the quietness on the blog;

From a Jewish wedding I was assisting at; A beautiful, quiet moment in time, captured forever.

Even as I revitalise my batteries for yet another wedding tomorrow, I thought I'd catch up on some blogging and post this incredible wedding; that of Jinty's and Thomas's.

As a foretaste, while Goshia and I were photographing the décor, we heard what we imagined to be the band rehearsing for the evening.  It was only when I turned around that I saw it was none other than Thomas strumming on his guitar.  .  .  practicing his serenade to Jinty, which had been scheduled for later that evening.  Yep, with that alone, it was certainly going to be a good one!!

Jinty and Thomas, who both adore music, made everything really extra-special, by reciting their own vows to each other, drawing up individual table names along with a description that detailed why those particular names were chosen.  Added to this, you have Thomas's affectionate serenade, two very extraordinary wedding cakes that were both made with tender devotion.   It really was THEIR day, which I always love to see.

The stars must have aligned for us that day, because even the rain gods had forty winks and we did manage to get some scrumptious light at the end of the day;-).

Congratulations again, Jinty and Thomas, and here are my favourite moments to share with you;

I've always revelled in photographing Jewish weddings.   Not only because so many events happen in such a short amount of time, but also because of the strong significance that's attached to the religious practices, customs and rituals, you're bound to capture some truly expressive (and unguarded) moments.

In the week before Sarah's and Kyle's wedding, I took some time out to brief my stand-in photographer, Goshia, as to what she should expect and what would be important whilst covering a wedding of this nature.

In hindsight, I would have to say that although I've covered a fair few Jewish weddings in my time, nothing can really prepare you, as a photographer, for the relentless energy and whirlwind pace that actually greets you on the day.

There are just so many frame-worthy shots from Sarah's and Kyle's day that do nothing short of showcasing the overflowing exuberance and emotion - those certain somethings you'd cherish the most to be part and parcel of your wedding album.   Let me take a step back and allow the images to speak for themselves

Mazel tov! Kyle and Sarah.   It was, in all honesty, completely unforgettable.

Quite a busy photograph, but I just love the look on Kyle's face as he approaches Sarah. (Above)

I'm completely bogged down with this insane explosion of weddings, which have yet to be posted and whilst it's amazing that I am so busy, it feels somewhat overwhelming at times.  Into the mix, throw in a PC upgrade alongside the usual glitches that follow, and I'd have to be the first to admit that I'm actually looking forward to the quieter months of winter.

Today, however, I'm excited to share some highlights from a recent wedding we photographed at Greenleaves; that of PJ's and Marise's.

Thank you both for fuelling my addiction for big moody skies and allowing me to drag you to the meilie field where, yes, there was a threat, just a small one ;-) of lightning . . . and thank you weather gods for your sympathetic restraint, as we did manage to freeze-frame a few portraits before the skies opened up.

It was Stellar day!
