About Me

I am a mother of three boys (three boys, being punished for my sins!) and have been a fan of photography for years. I started shooting weddings seriously about five years ago. With the arrival of my twins, I decided to reduce my working hours in order to spend more time at home with my boys. Using photography to make up for the loss of income was a natural progression.

This is where you will be able to catch regular excerpts of what I am up to...

September 20, 2013 // Personal / Travel

Following an unexpected (and tiresome) pit-stop in Bangkok, the remainder of our 13 000km journey felt like an episode from The Amazing Race; involving a continuous chase for our onward connections to reach our final destination.

Koh Samui airport has to be one of the most mind-blowing airports that I've even been to.   It's essentially an open-aired glorified thatched shed, without a sterile terminal building in sight.

As a first-time visitor to Thailand, I had no expectations at all, so as events slowly unravelled, they were surpassed in leaps and bounds.  Our opulent lodgings were located on a hill, adjacent to an uncrowded beach called Choeng Mon, in the Bay of Siam - a small but magnificent cove with sugar-white sand.  The rippling turquoise water scattered with small fishing boats was the type of scene you'd half imagine as one of those Microsoft screensaver options.

Our days were spent with the kids skimming stones into the calm sea, or making half-hearted attempts at catching fish in the rock pools, sipping cocktails at the rustic beach huts (the adults, not the midgets), tasting the local Thai cuisine and the most strenuous task was slapping on some sunblock.

In a nutshell, our Thailand retreat was JUST PERFECT!

For those that prefer a quieter Thailand beach holiday, sans the vibrant nightlife scene, Koh Samui is definitely your spot.

As the heartwarming days of spring approach, we are about to embark on the next wedding season, so before the mass-hysteria turmoil sets in motion again, here's an overdue blog post, which is that of Jessica's and Clinton's.

After many months of planning and preparation, Jessica and Clinton finally got hitched on a beautiful day in June and their ceremony couldn't have been a more touching experience.

Great weather, lovely guests, a radiant bride and a charming groom - not to mention the super-cool Simpsons neckties that were handed out to each of the male guests!

Here are some snippets from that day:

The wedding season slows down in winter and I must say I am enjoying the slow, a time to catch up and recharge.

I still have a winter wedding that I really do need to share with you, but for now just this one to disrupt the quietness on the blog;

From a Jewish wedding I was assisting at; A beautiful, quiet moment in time, captured forever.
