About Me

I am a mother of three boys (three boys, being punished for my sins!) and have been a fan of photography for years. I started shooting weddings seriously about five years ago. With the arrival of my twins, I decided to reduce my working hours in order to spend more time at home with my boys. Using photography to make up for the loss of income was a natural progression.

This is where you will be able to catch regular excerpts of what I am up to...

April 9, 2009 // Personal

It's a fairly sedate suicide-hour tonight. The kid's DVD seems to be entertaining them

No meal requests, no fighting, no running, no screaming... I'm actually not sure what is going on??

I am busy charging batteries and formatting CF cards for tommorrows wedding. It's been a busy week!

One thing that made my week, though, I had another quiet moment to myself this week - an entire, uninterrupted half-an-hour, where I was able to sit and relish the Q4 2008 results of the Wedding Photojournalist Association winners.

Pictures of the midgets from this week, brides wanting eye candy, grab a glass of wine and click through to the link.

April 6, 2009 // Engagement

Chantal and Jean-Paul, aka Sean ;-), booked an engagement session last week. Our planned location did not work out, but, I think we came up with an even better alternative. Nothing like thinking on one's feet!

Just before I post the images selected for this post, I thought I would explain: Kelly Moore, an American wedding photographer, whose blog I frequent, ran a post with a small contest about shooting in sunshine.

Thought I would give it a go and have selected images which were shot into the sun.

I may do a second post on this shoot just to show you how gorgeous Chantal and JP are!

Those of you not in the know, it is officially school holidays {enter sarcastic-Yaaay!}

Just to enlighten those blissfully unaware, school holidays = a brood of testosterone multiplied by three - actually, Ashley makes four, with energy levels of the Duracell Bunny, times six!

Hap...Hap...Hap...Happy days!

Anyone with ANY ideas on how to best utilise those energy levels, please give me a shout, or shot, preferably, of anything alchoholic.

Day Two: They are still alive, house intact.

Todays activity: an ice-cream picnic, which seemed to work for today. Let's hope I can come up with another 87 ideas for the rest of the holidays.

After many, many, many rainy weekends it was with great relief we had an overcast, but, DRY Saturday.

A tad heavy on the overcast side, along with constant threats of a downpour, but, it did remain DRY!

Karen and Greig were married at the Rosebank Church and chose Hazeldene Hall as their reception venue.

Even though it is most probably one of the most beautiful grand old buildings in Johannesburg, we decided to do the creatives elsewhere.

Thank you for letting Chantal and I be a part of your wedding day and for trusting me with your memories.

A fantastic time was had by all!

Another couple who belong to the "don't look good in photos" support group. (Yeah right!... these guys always hide it so well!)

A bit more than usual, but, I am sure the bride stalkers out there will not object to more photos being posted!

No objections here! Still trying to figure out where you took the creatives, though - is that the Brixton or Hillbrow tower there? (I don't know which is scarier! ;p) I think my faves are the two in the curved rampway (or whatever it was) - I love curvy lines.

Ok, for those dying to know......we did the creatives at Constitution Hill. A Sarajevo feel mixed with a modern concrete jungle...awesome venue to photograph.
