About Me

I am a mother of three boys (three boys, being punished for my sins!) and have been a fan of photography for years. I started shooting weddings seriously about five years ago. With the arrival of my twins, I decided to reduce my working hours in order to spend more time at home with my boys. Using photography to make up for the loss of income was a natural progression.

This is where you will be able to catch regular excerpts of what I am up to...

It's always such an honour (and a tad nerve-wracking) when a high profile Johannesburg photographer refers us, so the pressure was most definately on!

Ursula and I headed out to Memoire and when we saw the awesome sky, we knew exactly where we were going to head for the photos - there was also a must-have we left 'til last.

I realise the burnt veld and the final location did raise an eyebrow or two, but, I am sure you will agree, it was worth it!

Samantha (and Sergio), you guys are legends, conquering rough, burnt terrains, dust storms and a dodgy shebeen, with a few intoxicated onlookers.

Thank you for trusting us on our jaunt out for such a great set of images - we can't wait for you to see the rest!

I was recently asked if I use flash at the wedding reception. The answer is yes,  I usually use flash and if the venue lighting is right I sometimes also take a few without. (using a fast lens and high iso setting on my camera)

October 16, 2009 // Children / Personal

I really believe photography and chardonnay are my two best friends at this age!

As Jake and Liam approach three years of age (which for the amateurs out there is far worse than the 'terrible twos'), it has been a week of my pleading, threatening, bribing, cajoling, pushing boundaries (all of them) and eventually fuming and shouting at the two little midgets. . . testing terrorists-in-waiting.

Now, as the day winds down and the chardonnay kicks in, flicking through my images from this week, it doesn't look so bad after all....

I love old things.

Things made with love and an abudndance of history.

Knowing this, you will come to realise how much I loved Natasha's & Ryan's vintage wedding.

The dress, the flowers, ooooh the flowers, each table with its unique arrangement, the lovely traditional details, or just about everything of a bygone era!

It was gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous with no detail left unspared or missing.

Their wedding day was filled with all it should be: joy, laughter, tears, hugs and gorgeous little flower girls.

Yes, I could go on and on about all the finer points, I really could, but, I will save you from my non-stop ramblings and simply present you with the visuals.

Enjoy the Maldives!

The two older flowergirls, were repeating a "naughty word" (stupid idiot) and would burst out giggling each time it was pronounced. I love these moments.
