About Me

I am a mother of three boys (three boys, being punished for my sins!) and have been a fan of photography for years. I started shooting weddings seriously about five years ago. With the arrival of my twins, I decided to reduce my working hours in order to spend more time at home with my boys. Using photography to make up for the loss of income was a natural progression.

This is where you will be able to catch regular excerpts of what I am up to...

Still a few weddings that need to be posted up here, but in the meantime to break the silence on this blog, a single image from a recent 1 year old shoot. Isn't he gorgeous.

This is a bit of a tongue-tied post, as I didn't really know what to relay or how to choose my favourite photos.  Even so, I wanted to share some of the extraordinary moments I was lucky enough to bear witness to at this remarkable ceremony.
I knew Nicola's mother through work and, at the time way back in September 2013, when she mentioned that she had to book me for her daughter's nuptials, I was somewhat taken aback - more than ever, given the likelihood that her daughter may not take to my style of photography .  This kind of trust is unbelievably humbling, if not pretty terrifying!   When I finally had the chance to personally meet Nicola in February, I knew right off that we would get along fabulously.
The setting for Nicola's and Sean's wedding day was Shepstone Gardens, with its irredeemably magnificent surroundings.

It was a beautiful, crisp spring day, which was full of sheer delight and laughter - definitely one of my personal favourites.  Thank you so much to both of you for allowing me to capture this very special day.

Merle Riva:

Dear Andrea, I honestly could not believe for 1 minute that you felt "worried" about taking on the commitment of being wedding photography at my beautiful daughter's wedding. *big smile*. I had admired your work ever since I got my first peak on your blog and knew, without a shadow of doubt, that you would be photographer at the first wedding that came along... and the next and the next. Don't forget, I have 2 more girls, pocket willing, otherwise they just might have to elope.... Once again, a HUUUGE thank you for the absolutely beautiful images that captured our special celebration.

Feeding my unwavering wanderlust, one adventure at a time, I decided that a winter weekend in the unspoilt fishing village of Paternoster would be the idyllic weekend away.  And nothing could've quite prepared us for this perfect, picturesque hamlet - even the blustery gales off the southern Atlantic did little to dampen our spirits.

Paternoster represented a whole weekend without the distractions of urban life (or the boys), surrounded by it's white-washed cottages with blue shutters and thatched roofs - not to mention our own quaint pied-a-terre.  The sheer tranquility of it all certainly resonated with us, and Paternoster is most definitely a town that stole my heart.

. . . and then the blog entries came to a grinding halt.

As an understatement, these past few months have been pretty bonkers.  I know that I've been so terribly overdue on the blogging front - and shamelessly so.  Forgive me.

That's why I need to dust off the cobwebs and hopefully, during the colder and quieter months, I'll be able to catch up by sprucing this blog to its former glory.  More than ever, because I was lucky enough to witness a fair few amazing weddings over the previous season.

So without any further to-do, I am thrilled to be finally sharing this truly magical Morrell's wedding.   There were so many goosebump-moments captured and so many laughs - in fact, I could ramble on with the usual tired clich├ęs, but there really were countless alluring chapters throughout the day.

Amber and Nick are such a charming and wonderful couple, that it was both an absolute delight to be a part of their marriage ceremony, as well as to be privileged enough to freeze-frame the occasion.

Unquestionably, one of my personal favourites.

Thank you both!
