On the morning of Su-Mare's and Gerlouw's engagement shoot, I was really feeling sorry for myself (insert slushy violin music).
A stomach bug was doing the rounds and, on that particular Saturday, I had been mercilessly tagged. On top of catching this thoroughly miserable lurgy, the mercury levels were at freezing, so it was the type of day that you were almost entitled to be sick in bed.
I knew, though, that this engagement session took some planning and that they would be driving up from Bloemfontein for the occasion, so there was no way at all that I could re-schedule the event.
As a result, I pulled it all together, met a very cheerful and energetic Su-Mare and Gerlouw and we managed to get some crackers out of their session.
They will be getting married in March next year, on a farm in Kroonstad. Sigh...did I mention how I love farm weddings?

Angie and Sergio have planned an early winter wedding, but, first, here’s their engagement session:
I had intended to share this shoot with you last week, but, unfortunately, there just weren’t enough hours in the day (or perhaps enough caffeine).
Anyway, allow me to introduce the soon-to-be-married Angie and Sergio - can’t wait to shoot your wedding in May!

Wow Andrea - these pics are SO stunning - the lighting is absolutely gorgeous :) I am now looking SO forward to the wedding pics in May!
(03.29.11 @ 09:44 PM)When Candice approached me for an engagement session the brief was was simple, she wanted images that represent their journey ahead.
She actually wanted a similar shot to one she had seen of the kids on the blog, but as always when one tries to duplicate an image it never works, as light and conditions are always different.
I think we managed meet the brief in our own way!

When I gave Andrea the brief, it was just an idea...now its the most stunning reality...The railway tracks turned out even better than I could of imagined...And it was well worth hot footing-it away from the security! Thanks so much for the stunning piece...YOU ARE A LEGEND!
(07.08.09 @ 09:27 AM)Absolutely stunning!! WOW
(07.08.09 @ 04:34 PM)Chantal and Jean-Paul, aka Sean ;-), booked an engagement session last week. Our planned location did not work out, but, I think we came up with an even better alternative. Nothing like thinking on one's feet!
Just before I post the images selected for this post, I thought I would explain: Kelly Moore, an American wedding photographer, whose blog I frequent, ran a post with a small contest about shooting in sunshine.
Thought I would give it a go and have selected images which were shot into the sun.
I may do a second post on this shoot just to show you how gorgeous Chantal and JP are!
Oh these are stunning! So you also stalk Kelly's blog? Sweet. Good luck for the competition!
(04.06.09 @ 05:12 PM)Love the light in these photos. I'm going to try and do the same with a maternity session I have on Monday

(04.09.09 @ 08:21 PM)Absolutley stunning! It was an awsome shoot with an awsome couple :)
(06.15.09 @ 10:53 AM)A couple more from our shoot at the airport, this time no "vintage" treatment..

Andrea, Andrea, Andrea !!!!
What is next ?
Next thing you know you will be extradited to the US or Australia because you are wasting your talent in this country. I think your clients should start paying you in dollars ( not Zim ones ).
I love the sunlight on the tail shot.
Best regards
Paul
