About Me

I am a mother of three boys (three boys, being punished for my sins!) and have been a fan of photography for years. I started shooting weddings seriously about five years ago. With the arrival of my twins, I decided to reduce my working hours in order to spend more time at home with my boys. Using photography to make up for the loss of income was a natural progression.

This is where you will be able to catch regular excerpts of what I am up to...

tan・trum (tan′trem) n. a violent, wilful outburst of annoyance, rage, etc.; childish fit of bad temper.

Stage One - Non-stop whining and pestering.
Stage Two - Threat of tears (fake tears) accompanied by the quivering bottom lip.
Stage Three - Full-throttle, real, gushing tears and wailing ...Oscar nomination quality performance here.
Stage Four - The Grand Finale: throwing oneself back onto the floor, kicking and screaming.(Please Note: Great care is taken not to injure onself in the "fling back")

July 4, 2009 // Children / Personal

It's the school holidays, so there's less traffic; an extra 15 minutes in the morning in a nice warm bed, that's what you have to look forward to for the next couple of weeks.

For those who have short people, however, it means making 26 meals in one day (of which two will be approved and half-eaten), whining and pestering for that plastic dinosaur (that is nowhere to be found), breaking up fights, searching the internet for kiddies' venues and drinking wine the moment the clock strikes five four to keep your sanity.

Yep, it's no holiday - in any sense of the word!

You may not recognise them as they are fully clothed ;-) (Liam, Jake and Oliver)

This one has sat quite patiently in my output folder waiting to get posted, with the posting of my winter weddings it kind of got neglected and put to the side.

So here it is, dusted and finally posted, pictures of Liam taken at a family picnic at Champetre at the end of April. The short people's interpretation of picnic; No picnic is complete without puddles of muddy water, the clothes lasted half an hour. Champetre-Picnic.jpg

June 9, 2009 // Personal

Not much to write about this week. It's cold and miserable in Johannesburg and I've caught the dreaded lurgy from one of the midgets, I am spending the day in bed.

Hopefully I will feel more human tommorrow.

A few images from the weekend.

Soooo many pictures, and quite simply, not enough time!

I stirred from a really restful slumber at 03h00 this morning, to make an effort to draw level with my weekly post. Wait!....Quiet! ..ssshhh...I can hear rumblings I think the midgets are also about to waken.

I am trying my very best not to make a sound, since I still have about two minutes before they find me.

So, unfortunately, only this teaser for now.

Desirée & Carl, I managed to get in three hours, I promise I will post your wedding this week.
