Today is a public holiday and we have decided to make it a long weekend away. Back in the office on Monday.
I thought I had better do an itty bitty post this morning as it's been a bit sparse on the wedding side. A sneak peak of what is yet to be posted.

A sneaky back-dated post...
I thought I was going to get off scot-free by not posting the boys' birthday bash on the blog, but, then one very clever bugger asked why the party wasn't here.
Apologies, dear blog readers, as I do realise you're not that engrossed with the antics of their birthday shindig.
In any case, it was a safari in the Serengeti for Jake and, of course, for Liam, a repeat of last years theme, cars.
Two fire engines and an ambulance arrived at the venue, treating the boys and their guests to rides around the neighbourhood.
There you are boys, posted and done.

Just yesterday, we received the news that there would be two.
Just yesterday, I gave birth to two baby boys.
Just yesterday, two teeny new newborns came into our lives, packaged with double the noise and a puppy smell that made me want to hug and hold you until you popped.
Just yesterday, I watched your dadda take you out for your morning walks and hold your podgy fingers to trim your tiny fingernails.
Just yesterday, I heard you call a caterpillar a pasta pillow.
Yes, blog readers, it was only just yesterday.
Blink.
And today Jake and Liam are four.

Happy Birthday, Boys!

AWESOME. I usually reserve myself from superlatives, especially when it comes to photography, considering that I see tons of awful imagery, with tags like "amazing", "mind blowing" and the like. My wife and I have a brand new baby girl, (our second, my son is about 2 months older than your twins) born in the very early morn of the 27th of November, 2010. I don't shoot newborns, and generally loathe the cutesy manner in which babies are portrayed. Of course, being a photographer, the question was "we want to see pictures". So, I decided to do some research, and find a style that I like. Yours is it. Inspirational. And now I drift over here to your blog. I find this. I'm just jotting a note to say that your style is very cool, and what you said has made me decide that I NEED to shoot the shots I want to remember my baby girl in this most special time. Thanks.
(11.30.10 @ 10:20 AM)Thank you for the kind words Eric.
Shoot away, it (time) really does go so VERY fast. Enjoy every second with your new arrival.
We are in the Waterberg, emails and calls will be returned on Monday.
Have a great a great weekend!

Dear Andrea. I found your blog on internet. The old one. And there I found the link to this new website. I just want you to know that I think your work is fantastic. I am a 21 yo brazilian girl. My boyfriend is canadian and I'm probably moving there very soon. As we already talked about getting married I search photographs very often and yours are the best I've seen so far. I'm in love with your work.
(11.21.10 @ 10:58 PM)Andrea, the moments you capture are so crystal clear with life, joy and elegance I absolutely love your work. I am just starting out as a photographer, I live in the states, and am going to my first conference next week! If you wouldn't mind, I would love to know what kind of camera you are using, I don't know if the major brands are different in South Africa, but it is evident your camera and how you work the lens is fabulous. I hope you are enjoying yourself!

(01.03.11 @ 05:46 AM)Thank you ladies!
@ Joanna - this picture was taken with the Canon 5D Mk11 with the 2.8 24-70 mm lens
how much did it cost you? and how many lenses do you use or is there one that pretty much does the job?
(02.26.11 @ 11:53 PM)I was at my PC surfing my regular haunts of inspiration on the Web, with Oliver at my side, when I happened upon my favourite children photographer's blog.
In one image, Oliver spotted a kite and asked: "Can I have one of those?"
So, of course, that kite we made.

Here's Liam with the kite that does not fly ;-)

You were wonderful to have in the room with us - such a lovely lot of people!
(12.21.10 @ 11:04 AM)Thank you for making the day so special - I cannot wait for the photo's to be seen.
